This position come with great responsibility and the person in that position needs to be attentive and responsive to the voice of the parents. Dr Bonner came to us with a broken track record and various complaints that she neglected to hear parents and return phone calls. One would think that she would have taken notice and made some changes. If you cant improve and better yourself how are you going to improve the system to better our students? Its time for a change.

I was horrified what they did regarding contracts to amazing teachers. Our children are so affecting by decisions that had no merit. I love our town, family and friends here, makes it so unfair to have an amazing community and not raising our young-lings to have any advantage with their education. Instead they all are not achieving their fullest because they are not getting challenged or show teachers that they are appreciated. My child attended magnet at 3 and was reading , now in first grade at East Haven school struggles with reading... Its a shame..... really need a change for our kids.......

I don't feel she should be the head of our schools.she is not in touch with the reality of what it takes. Do not extend her contract..she needs to go..now

My children are no longer in the school systems but I do hope the board does not renew her contract she has poor judgement and really hasn't made any improvements. I do have a granddaugther is not school age as of now but would like her to attend school in East Haven

I had my children in the East Haven school system from the start of 1992 right up until 2015 the sad scenario about it is she does nothing I've seen so many things change over the years but the kids didn't suffer for it and unfortunately that's what's happening you've always had to be the voice of your own child when they couldn't be their own but the bottom line of it is the school back to you up the Board of Education backed you up the superintendent back you up this woman definitely needs to go somewhere other than in our school system I now have grandchildren in East Haven schools and this is just unacceptable

Directly related to Dr. Bonner's term and the inadequate education my children were receiving in East Haven, my family was compelled to move out of town. She is an embarrassment. She does not support her administrators, she is disrespectful to the town's people, and she is out of touch with the needs of the schools. The only way to give the school system a chance is to get Bonner out ASAP.

Do to bullying problems,
Since her arrival, there was no implementation regarding this CT law.
Please we need changes in this type of policy.

Closing schools without even considering the fact that many young people could be moving into our Town and will be raising a family.She needs to go and appoint from within as we have qualified individuals who can easily replace her. They know the system and what to do with it. Stop hiring outsiders who other communities let go due to incompetency

When my daughter was in 3rd grade she was accepted into the Magnet School in New Haven. There was no question that I would pull her from East Haven Public School and if the opportunity presented itself pull my PRE K son before he even started Kindergarten. We got lucky and both entered Ross Woodward the same year. When my daughter first entered Ross her reading skills were tested and she failed miserably. It is gut wrenching to hear that your 3rd grader is reading at a Pre-K level. She has had to attend summer school and is almost where she needs to be as far as reading goes. Both are thriving in New Haven. If they had stayed in East Haven they would have failed because "Dr." Bonner is failing these young minds! This woman is for herself only and does not care about the young minds.

I find it sad that I must look into sending my daughter to an out of district school when she enters high school due to the consistent poor performance our towns' schools have demonstrated. Instead of redistricting and displacing students, why not focus on how to improve the education our children receive?

Too many cuts in the curriculum, especially the Arts!
She is stifling the growth of so many Minds. She is taking away the chance for futures that these kids might not be able to build on without some of the courses and classes she is cutting. She may have made some positive changes in the system, but she has done more harm than good. She got her degree and what she wanted to be, and now she is taking those chances away from our youth
