I am an affiliate for various websites and this is how I plan on creating long-term income for my family as my blog grows. My blog is my plan for being able to work from home long term even as I start and raise my family. Blogging (as an affiliate) is a wonderful job for mothers since it allows women to stay in the home when their kids are little, have an outlet for their creative and marketing talents, positively influence their communities and the world, and bring in money that many households need. I've spent lots of hours and money building my blog with this long term plan in mind and it will not be possible if businesses with affiliate programs pull their programs from Utah.

Any quick research on similar bills in other states show that this bill doesn't reach the desired results it's aiming for. Instead of adhering to the new law creating nexus, companies immediately disconnect their affiliate programs in these affected states so that the law no longer applies to them. THIS ACHIEVES NO NEW INCOME FOR THE STATE, AND ALSO DESTROYS SELF-EMPLOYED AFFILIATES IN UTAH SINCE THEY CAN NO LONGER PARTICIPATE. The result is a net negative. Please do your research legislators and VOTE NO on these bills as the ONLY result will be lost income for Utah small business and therefore, lost income tax revenue. NO GAINS.

We already have laws to collect on line taxes.. We don't more stinking laws. We need to enforce what we have.

We are taxed far to much in everything. Looser government salaries and show an annual audit of our tax money and the distribution of it.

I have a startup company in Utah and I'm strongly opposed to legislation that hurts bloggers. I depend heavily upon bloggers for marketing of my new company, PatternJam, Inc. (recipient of a technology & innovation grant from the Governor's Office of Economic Development). DON'T HURT SMALL BUSINESS!!

The passing of this bill will put many Utah businesses out of business. Many women will no longer be able to stay home with their children and may be forced to go back to the workplace. Families will have to cut back on their spending habits. There are THOUSANDS of Utah bloggers who use affiliate marketing as a way to provide for their families, and this will ruin them. Their only option may be moving out of state. This bill cannot pass without thinking of the real effects here.
