A few items in this bill do not seem legal. Is this Constitutional? Senator McConnaughay, if SB16 passes, I would prefer we get zero dollars in funding from the state and therefore would not be tied to the state board of education's funding formula.

SB16 is a miscarriage of justice to every property owner that votes to locally raise their property taxes to support education. For that support, SB16 robs money to send it to Chicago's Black Hole of Education. Put some accountability in Chicago to show the state where all that money has gone! Leave my wallet alone!!

I am against Senate Bill 16 because of the huge, negative impact it will have on the educational experience of my children. We specifically choose to move to our town (Arl. Hts) in large part because of the excellent schools. We pay high property taxes in order to support those schools. To have the State cut its funding to our school district in this manner is akin to pulling the rug out from under suburban taxpayers. I urge all Illinois senators to vote against it.

We moved and live here for the school district. We pay extremely high taxes for this as well. Vote no.

The fact that education funding has been cut by $621million under Gov. Quinn is a strong reason we should ALL vote for Bruce Rauner for Gov! HE has supported education with his personal time, energy, and finances. That kind of practical, applied leadership is needed in Illinois.
