I have 4 children. They all have attended Maplewood. My youngest is currently a 1st grader. It's very upsetting that she would not be able to stay at the school that has been so much a part of our family.

This is an unfair and backward option. How is it feasible financially and commonsensically to bus or drive students past TWO other elementaries? What are you thinking?? your not

Restructuring is not the same as redistricting. The community has not been informed of the financial demands of this plan. Not to mention the plans are based on proximity and Maplewood students would be bussed to a school 3.7 miles away when there is an elementary .4 miles from our home.

I will gladly sign this, in hopes that this will make a difference. I want Maplewood to stay an Elementary school!

Would also suggest that advice be sought from Ed Eding, recent past principal of Maplewood.

I have several issues with this proposed option.
1. Maplewood is a new building that was specifically designed for young elementary aged students. It doesn't make sense to change that to accommodate just 2 grade levels.
2. Children entering the 4th grade would be transitioned to a new school on the other side of town for just one year before returning to Maplewood for another 2 years.
3. Adding an intermediate school then forces those children to transition 5 different times causing unnecessary stress and anxiety during a time in their lives where structure and stability is much needed. It is difficult enough for most students to transition form elementary school to junior high while dealing with changes in hormones and emotions that adding an additional transition seems incredibly unnecessary.
Please vote no on option 3. This issue should be about the children first.

I am against option 3. We are retired and feel this will hurt our home value when we sell our home as this is our neighborhood elementary!

Minimal change in finance and structure has option 1 as the reasonable and logical choice. No to option 3

I am against option 3. I feel it will hurt our home values in Sleepy Hollow to send our kids so far away from Maplewood, which is our current school practically across the street from S.H.

I have 2 babies who are yet to be in school, however, option 3 has me upset as a tax payer and mom. There are 2 schools within walking distant for my sons, and whiteford is a 15 min trip away. I do not want my babies shipped across town!

Option three is not redistricting- it is restructuring
