On October 6 the Montgomery Council will vote on legislation that will ban the use of lawn care products around your home and throughout the County.

This proposal will hurt your ability to care for your home and family, and enjoy our parks, playing fields and other green space. It will also make it virtually impossible for the licensed, trained and experienced lawn care professionals who use these products responsibly to do business in the County and protect your property.

Sunday’s Washington Post editorial stated that the bill has a “weak legal and scientific basis.” The Maryland Attorney General says that Montgomery County’s proposed ban would likely violate State law and make the County vulnerable to a costly legal battle. And the National Cancer Institute told the County Council that there is no conclusive evidence linking lawn care chemicals to serious human health risks.

Tell Councilmembers that Montgomery County residents, small business owners and workers DO NOT support a ban on the use of lawn care pesticides.

Sign the petition and tell them to VOTE NO on Bill 52-14.

We the undersigned residents, workers and small business owners of Montgomery County urge you to Vote No on Bill 52-14 and its overreaching restrictions on the safe and responsible use of lawn care products in Montgomery County.
