Vote NO for the Hamden Board of Ed's Budget

We, the undersigned demand that the Hamden Board of Education Budget, as presented (based on http://www.hamden.org/uploaded/Kaplan/PDF2012-2013_Superintendent's_Budget_1-26-12.pdf ), gets rejected until one with no increased spending, reduced administrative costs, and provides for quality cost-effective education is presented. The BofE has budgeted to: 1. keep on a Superintendent that has retired at extra taxpayer cost while it has two Assistant Superintendents that could and should be stepping up and filling the interim role; 2. establish a curriculum budget line item to pay for work that should best be done by teachers in the school year; 3. on the basis of an already 'new curriculum' is seeking funds for new texts (if we have a new curriculum why #2?); 4. have 4 Assistant Principals in the High School alone at over $120,000 each; 5. spend to hire lunch/playground aides that don't add to the educational process and should not be needed. We request that it be revised as sought above,
