Lockport School is currently the only school in LSSD that does not hold evaluations to assess their students and place them in similar skill level teams for the Tier 1 and 2 sports system for Grade 7 and 8.
This puts our students at a disadvantage and does not allow students whom are more advanced to compete at a competitive level and also hinders the students whom need more focus on development.
Please consider signing this petition if you feel students should be given the greatest chance to succeed in sport at the school level.
I really did not think this would gain so much steam so fast but it is amazing to see how many people actually care about how we handle these sports teams. Maybe now the board will finally listen to us because it is honestly kind of wild that we are the only school left doing it this way.

My son needs more development and he isnt getting it playing on a team where no one knows the basics. Fix the program.

Competitive sports should be competitive. Stop grouping everyone together regardless of skill.

My daughter is constantly frustrated because the teams are so unbalanced. It makes no sense to not have tryouts when every other school does it.

Kids deserve a fair shot to play at their own level. This system just holds everyone back.
