we need to stop this human less act, people need to see and appreciate what natures surrounding us to make this place a place for people to come and enjoy their travel. Got to swim with the dolphins in June. It was an amazing experience. Was very sad to see the sewage plant. Don’t understand why of all Place this plant could be built here especially as this is a major tourist attraction for png.

I'll strongly protest against this sewerage pond being build next to the sea which will affect marine life, the coastline naturally habitat and the livelihood of the nearby villagers

This is a very bad choice of location for sewage treatment because it is unhealthy for the humans and wildlife that tribe here. This seems to be a dolphin spawning area and a nursery and maternity area for baby dolphins to grow up. The St. Georges Channel should be a world heritage site for dolphins and Ulaveo, Tovuru are the ecological hot spots that we have to protect so that a major tourist attraction is not destroyed.
Secondly the use of clean water for flushing shit into the sea is a very old technology that was developed by the Romans about 2000 years ago.
There are already better technologies being developed to make industrial use of human excrement. In many countries it is turned into fertilizer ponds and recycled with other organic matter to grow huge amounts of agricultural produce. This option should be considered.
There are also new technological advancements that burn human excrement for the production of electrical energy. These solutions mean that there is no waste and in fact shit becomes an industrial asset.

We were born and have lived in Kokopo, Rabaul for most of our lives and still do. We know the surrounding waters very well. We will work our butts off to prevent the sewage from being pumped out into the sea. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to realize that the long term effects will be disastrous and will not benefit any of us. NO PEKPEK SEWERAGE INTO OUR SEA!
