I've swam with Dolphins on this spot,I literally touched them and we played along well in the waters. It was so amazing, It's so sad that whats happening is chasing them away from their Habitat. Please relocate this sewage plant to save our our endangered species from extinction.
What an absolute mismanagement of government. They talk about making Kokopo a tourist hub and than they dump a sewerage plant next to PNG's NO.1 Resort. Not to mention the destruction to the marine life and the livelihood of surrounding villagers.
Got to swim with the dolphins in June. It was an amazing experience. Was very sad to see the sewage plant. Don’t understand why of all Place this plant could be built here especially as this is a major tourist attraction for png.
At a public meeting at the Gazelle International Hotel we were told that the Licence would be a "Temporaty One" and an Environmental Impact Study be done and that would be subjected to a "Peer Review" and then made Public. I have never heard a word since then.
There has to be another solution that protects the environment & all that live & grow in this area. Think about tourism & how it will be affected. What about those who live & rely on this water area for their life?

Poor planning for all who were involved in this project. No care factor for the future of the marine life, environment or the community. What an eyesore. Totally disgusting.

This is an obscenity to the natural habitat for the dolphin pods...the very reason I'm flying to Rabaul to interact with them! The dolphins certainly don't deserve this abomination! Shut it down!
