TalegaResidents Petition

VittoriaCommunity Commitment

Thispetitionis going to those of you who live inVittoriaas a request to show your support and commitment to our neighborhood by signing this pledge to "Protect Common Area Grounds". In doing so you are showing the HOA andTelegaMaintenance Group thatour community is able to self-govern without their unwanted intervention and infringement on our community's aesthetics.

As you may or may not be aware,TelegaMaintenance and the HOA has worked independently of our community to solve for the issue of broken irrigation pipes, destruction to trees and plants andlittering trashin one of the common nature areas ofVittoria. These governing bodiescame to theexpensiveconclusion thata metal fence~200feet wide, 5 feet highshould be placed at the entry points of Gador and Durangoto permanently block human access asthe answerto solve the problem. Theyare trying to pursueinstalling this fencequickly and aggressively unless our community works together on the issue.

We are looking to show our community’scommitment to protect common area ground by keepingmotorbikesoutandother “BMX-like”activityto a minimumin the back common hill grounds. A few of the directly affected neighbors are going to the board meeting to tryandstop this as well as begin to dialogon analternative to fences. We believefences will have a number of negative consequences includinga loss of direct trail access,a massiveblocking of the beautiful hillside, a lossfor the children to experience the thrill of unstructured interaction with backyard nature and one anotheras well asa likely decrease in home values. Note, real estate and appraisers have reviewed the data and have documented their professional perspective on the gate’s home value impact as it willstand out, be different from other streetsand detractfromwhat exists today. Sadly, I can just see our children peering into the fence talking about when they “used to get to explore the area before the fence”. It breaks my heart and makes me extremely upset that this will happen withoutourtaking a stand.

We are asking that you do the following in support of keeping us Free of Fences inVittoria.

1) Attend the meeting on Sept. 9th at 6pm and voice your concerns regarding thepoorprocess, lack ofcommunication with our community and theirresponsibleact ofpermanently blocking off the area with a fence
2)Sign this Community Agreement to Protect Common Area Grounds(electronically in this email, or in-person at 13 Via Gador)
3) Discuss the issues with your children so they understand the severity and impact if rules are broken.Explain we all must do our part, else fines or further permanent methods to keep them out of thesuper fun and beautifulhillswill be pursued by the HOA.

4) Show the HOA our children understand and arepart of the solution by havingthem sign the “Children’s Commitment toNeighborhoodNature”petition(also at 13 Via Gador)
5) Keep open communication with neighbors and children if issues come up or children need reminders on what is appropriate before it escalates to the governing bodies via the monitoring that will take place as they review expenses, regrowth, etc.

See following pages for signature and support.

Thank you so much for participating in this important community process!

Community Commitment to Protect Common Area Grounds

I am a resident ofVittoria, an on behalf of my family, Icommit to protect the common area grounds around the hills of our neighborhood. In particular, I am mindful of the exposed water pipes and high drought area between the hills of Via Gador and Via Durango, and will keep my children from motor cross or biking activity that can be damaging or dangerous.I am not in support of the current plans for a massive, metal fence restricting access to the nature area. I understand that additional expenses have been incurred in the past and there is a major effort to keep the area protected. My familyis happy to be part of the solutionand work with neighbors tokeep unwanted activity away from the area.

Children’s Pledge to Neighborhood Nature

Ipledge to do my part to keep the nature areas in my neighborhood pretty and safe for everyone to enjoy. I will not bother thewater pipesor plants as I play and explore the nature in my neighborhood.

Thank you for listening to our voices.
