Keeping you up to date on the current Biosafety issue in SVG: Government is trying to bring Living Modified Organisms (LMOs / GMOs) into our country and they are doing it in an undemocratic way; we suspect that it is possibly even in an unconstitutional way.

The government thought they could sneak these GMOs into our country behind our backs without a fight. They clearly underestimated the people of St. Vincent because our momentum is now impossible for them to ignore.

This is an issue of vital importance. Do your research. Educate yourself. Do not allow this decision to be made for you - a democracy requires participation in order for it to work.
Allowing LMOs into the country will not only endanger the health of every citizen, but will jeopardize the ability for farmers and fishermen to make a living. Those who utilize rainwater will have to find another way of hydration as the rain water turns acidic. Social services and government programs will be cut once the "restructuring" of the big money lender to fund this costly endeavor sets up repayment criteria. St. Vincent is a pure, mostly untouched gem. Do not let the biotech companies and GMO/LMO manufacturers get rich off your health. Do not pay them to kill you. Say NO to LMO!
There is opportunity here for SVG farmers to differentiate themselves from the rest who are jumping head first to grow monster vegetables and get them to the consumer swiftly. There is a market for healthy foods, let us teach our farmers how to exploit it and not be like sheep followng the rest.
We are small enough Island states and endowed with large enough fertile lands, which with improved techniques of organic farming should provide all of our regional needs.
Monsanto is evil and science is never concluded - Vincy must not let GMOs/LMOs contaminate our land and exterminate our bees. Where will we go to for healing when the food and honey is FAKE? Being fooled into believing this is good for us is ignorant.

Gmo's destroy on a cellular level, it may not show up in the first generation but it will alter the natural order.

We should be promoting existing natural and organic food production practices, not GMOs/LMOs - the negative effects of which can be seen in the countries who have relied upon them (both "developed" and "developing" countries. GMOs/LMOs are unhealthy, unsustainable and detrimental to the long term health and development of individual lives, communities and economies.
