Victory finally acknowledged the failure and they are moving forward with the replacement program for our front fenders. This took far more effort than I ever expected but seeing 429 of you step up changed the outcome for every Vision rider on the road. We secured our safety and now …
The purpose of this petition is to bring awareness to Victory Motorcycles by their riding community on a very serious issue with the rear plastic part of the front fender on the Vision model - ALL YEARS. The plastic appears to get brittle as it ages and breaks off where it mounts to the front forks. The broken piece of the fender slides down into the lower part of the front fairing and locks up your steering. This is a very serious issue and the Victory Riding community wants the manufacturer - Victory - to recall the part and offer a one piece metal fender to replace the two piece fender that is failing.
Seeing this momentum grow reminds me how many of us have been terrified of our steering locking up while riding. Knowing I am not the only one worried about this catastrophic failure makes this fight feel possible.

I have been hearing from more riders who experienced this exact steering lockup and it is terrifying to realize how many of us are riding on a ticking time bomb. I am currently compiling these reports to present to the company so they cannot continue to ignore this design failure.

On June 22, 2014 I was out for a ride on my 2011 Vision Tour with 35,000 miles. I was on secondary roads averaging 45 MPH when I started to hear an intermittent noise coming from the front of the bike. At one point when I came to a stop sign the steering locked up and when I gave it some extra muscle there was a loud noise. That's when I discovered that the back piece of the fender had broke. I was lucky that I didn't have an incident while traveling down the rode.

On May 17th/2014 was riding my vision tour premium on the blueridge parkway in North Carolina, when what i thought at first was low tire pressure. Tried to turn but steering jammed. Finally got over and found back half of front fender broke away and flipped up inside and jammed steering. please check your fenders.

I filed a complaint with the NHTSB. I also lodged a complaint with Victory, this was over a year ago, nothing is being done, Somebody is going to get killed.
