We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge Savannah’s Board of Zoning Appeals and city council to act now and oppose/ refuse an application for a Beer and Wine and/ or Liquor License for the property known as 1004 Abercorn Street, Pin #2-0044-27-013, registered as a Limited Liability Company with the state of Georgia known as 1004 Abercorn Street, LLC, Arunbhai C. Patel as the registered agent/ owner.

We are opposed to this action as it will certainly decrease The City of Savannah’s Historical Integrity and our property values due to the sale of liquor and/ or Beer and Wine at this Convenience Store.

In an effort to attract homeowners and investment, the city of Savannah designated this area as a Planned Neighborhood Conservation Unit to promote rehabilitation and to curtail blight.

The East Victorian District is bounded on the north by Gwinnett Street, the west by Forsyth Park and Bull Street, the south by Anderson Street and the east by Habersham Street.

The parcel’s current B-1 zoning allows special uses, including package stores, taverns and cocktail lounges if approval is granted by the Savannah Zoning Board of Appeals. But the zoning also calls for such uses to serve the neighborhood, rather than draw in traffic from the larger public.
