Victor and Hugo for DVD

I would like to mention an important change that has happened in 2018 and Fremantle Media is no longer the rights holder having sold their entire kids catalogue to Boat Rocker Media in January. I, like everyone else who has signed, would love to see Victor and Hugo released on DVD. What this recent news means in regards to any possible release remains to be seen but let us hope that Boat Rocker are more inclined than Fremantle were to release DVDs of 'lesser known' programmes they hold in their catalogue. It is after all an excellent show and deserves a release.

The answer is, sadly, because it was poorly received when it was on ITV, and this was not helped by the fact it premiered just before Thames TV (who backed Cosgrove-Hall, hence their short-lived inverted triangular logo) lost the 1991 franchise round to Carlton TV, which meant that it was only ever shown on ITV once (for the United Kingdom, that is!).

I have wanted this to happen for years, why cosgrove do you have just about every other cartoon ever made available but no victor and hugo? You would think with a star such as David Jason they would be pushing it!

Mark, that is exactly why my favorite episode of the show is #7, "The Hole Truth and Nothing But the Truth", as they drill through a large red "X" that they paint on the wall of the ballroom basement! I also wrote to Fremantle myself (on five occasions from January 2010 to February 2012), but on the last time they got back to me saying they did not seek my unauthorized usage of their intellectual properties; the only time they ever listen to ordinaries is if they either cannot sing or are just trying to become "famous". It is not fair to anybody who had no VCR at the time the show was airing, but is even LESS fair to those who taped over the episodes they DID record!

Some people may remember that the CITV Channel's "Old Skool Weekend" (held at the start of last year) could well have been the only chance the show had to be repeated in the United Kingdom, but it was overlooked because the channel's bias towards live-action shows still remained; as a result, it was amazing that even "Mike & Angelo" (1989-2000) and "Spatz" (1990-92) got repeated but "BiC" didn't.

Who knows, Andrew; maybe Fremantle will use their upcoming remake of "Danger Mouse" (1979-85 and 1990) as an excuse to finally release "Bunglers in Crime" on DVD after over a decade, because the last time he appeared on ITV was in its twentieth episode, "French Exchange", in 1992.

A DVD of 'Victor & Hugo' - Bunglers In Crime' would be perfect that it would! I am loving the Hosgrove-Call cartoons (this IS what I said) immensely and V&H is the only one that I really believe gets a raw deal. Come on! DVD of all episodes s'il vous plaît? What? Please. Ah!
