Veterans are injured from disabilities that happened while they were serving. Many of them cannot work, but it can take 18 months or more to get the disability benefits they are entitled to. The procedure is very long, and can cause much anxiety. Sign this petition to help our government know that we need better treatment for our vets.
The number of people backing this request is growing steadily as we move toward the two hundred and fifty signature mark. I am asking you to pass this link along today so we can present a stronger case to the officials overseeing these delays. This momentum is necessary to ensure our veterans receive the prompt support they earned.

I am a Vietnam era vet totally disabled with multiple services connected medical problems. Due to my having 3 discharges (DD214s) the last being an other than honorable I have been denied financial benefits since the mid 1980s. I will add that my other than honorable discharge resulted from my reenlistment officer lying to me and the Army saying that they would not tarnish the brass of a captain for a PFC.

I put my initial claim in 2006, even with evidence, they've denied my claim. Reopened claim 2 years ago and appealed it nearly a year ago. In the mean time, my situation gets worse and I'm unable to hold a job.
