The municipality must ensure that the existing sports clubs and facilities used by those clubs are maintained.

It is important to the community that we retain space for multi sport disciplines. This is a safe space that has also guarantee a place regional trials for dog agility can be held.

Any training grounds should welcome community, with certain strictness regarding times due to field capacities. Creating a single focused sporting ground discourages community development, as the smallest percentage of people recieve focus while the rest are left behind. Every community in Stellenbosch and the neighboring areas, from poor to rich enjoy one thing and that is sports stopping access to sporting grounds will destroy any future community growth.

Decisions made behind closed doors by stakeholders without involving the affected community is reminiscent of apartheid style tactics of forced removals and relocation, and must cease with immediate effect. It's seems that decisions are influenced in favour of those with bulging wallets, while communities who enjoyed watching rugby, is uprooted. VDE is a Club that has progressed tremendously over the last 5 years and is a Club that the entire of Stellenbosch is be proud of as it is evident by it's recent progress that is uniting citizens from all sectors of the population. Stellenbosch Municipality officials who sanctioned the lease to Stellenbosch FC, thus forcibly resulting in the relocation of the homeground of VDE, should be ashamed of themselves. Where to from here for VDE? The answer is NOWHERE! VDE will only move if a facility that is equal or better than the current one, which is centrally located, is offered. If not, VDE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!
