I think it's pathetic how if it is distracting boys from learning, there education comes first?

It's stupid, girls should be allowed discreet makeup for their own confidence. Boys are distracted out of their own choice, they need to focus on what they're doing instead of making girls feel low about themselves with no makeup and longer skirts. Schools say they offer "individuality" but we're not allowed to express our individuality or anything else.

I think that this is too far. Some girls have low self esteem already and rely on a bit of makeup to make them feel confident and I'm all for it. It's individuality and its discriminating against girls. Most women now days wear makeup including most teachers and other professional women I'm not saying everyone should go in with a face full of makeup but a little bit is fine. Apparently it is because it's it distracts boys well this is ridiculous because that's there fault they need to concentrate on what there doing plus most boys probably won't notice if a girl has makeup on or not.

society has made an excessive amount of makeup something that is "unprofessional" which is understandable as it can look trashy, but if all girls have different levels of what is acceptable and what's not why should it be anything to do with the school?the school preaches "anti bullying" and "expressing yourself" how are girls who have varying levels of self esteem concentrate on school work if they are busy worring about how they look with no makeup?!confidence for some is easy for others not, this is where makeup helps.it is sexist about "distracting boys" and it would be different if the teachers couldn't wear any!!! In mine and I'm sure lots of girls opinions it is a human right to display your face how you want to a certain exstent.nothing to do with anyone else but how you feel within about yourself.

I feel this is a step too far. I understand that a full face of makeup is not acceptable at school but subtle makeup should be permitted. These girls are growing into young ladies and will affect some girls confidence and makeup has no affect on academic grades. Most professional women wear makeup in the workplace from politicians to nurses. I think this is very old fashioned for 2016

Without make up it makes girls feel low on self esteem, and can promote bullying because they can't hide anything embarrassing

Girls should be able to wear make up it keeps girls confidence up they say it will distract us from learning but if we are worrying about what we look like surely we would be trying to hide are faces that will stop us from working I wear make up to school nearly every day and I am lucky I have never been to student support about what my makeup but I know many girls who have even if they are not wearing much they say it takes the boys off there work but they should be punished not us girls

I think that it is wrong how the school would rather put a child in referral for wearing make up than focusing on their grades

as a former student at valley park (left in 2015) I understand how strickt the school is and how they feel about make up. But banning make up all together is wrong. It will effect young girls who may suffer with acne feel self contious, seeing someone feel uncomfortable in the way they are and how they are feeling is more distracting then wearing make up.

I think girls should be allowed to wear make up because it isn't a detraction. Most girls wear make up to build up their confidence not to impress anyone.

Makeup is not distracting. The school has a good reputation with GCSE results so why bring on this new rule which is pointless. Grades might even be getting lower cuz some girls are not confident without any makeup so won't be able to concentrate on anything else but how they look.

I think by telling girls who spend ages on makeup in the morning to feel confident in themselves only makes them concentrate on the work more then their looks. All the times teachers kick students out of class to take of their makeup is ridiculous. When they are older and get a job only then will try realise they don't need so much makeup to feel confident in themselves. School is a small part of their lives, grades are what is most important. Focus on their grades not what shade their eyebrows or foundation is.
