Petition to the Valencia Reserve Board of Directors August 5 2012 page one

There is not enough space available for the largest activity at Valencia Reserve, which is Mah Jongg , Canasta and Bridge, for the women residents, which are being denied access to some of the cards room. Clearly we are the majority and have received the least consideration for using the clubhouse. Currently two of the three cards rooms have designation, with plaques, for play on Monday, Tuesday and Friday for men’s games. Only card room #3 is available for open play. The women have been told to leave #1 and #2 card rooms, when only 3 tables were being used. All card rooms should be open play on all days for all card games. We bought homes here to be able to use the cards rooms which we are being denied by “sanctioned clubs” which needs to be addressed as it relates to card games.

In desperation, we have tried to set up tables in the, arts and crafts room, kitchen, pool table room and have been told by management, we could not play in these areas. We own the clubhouse, not management, and it is up to the Board to determine the future multiple use of these rooms.

We, the followings residents of Valencia Reserve, respectfully request that the Valencia Board, has an obligation to consider the needs of the majority of owners and implement solutions to correct the mistakes of the builder who put in rooms, example (WI room, pool room, kitchen, basketball court), to sell homes and do not provide practical use of space and parking for 2200 residents.

1. All card rooms should provide open play of any game, of any gender. During the season, the members are forced to play in their homes, as there are not enough card rooms.

2. On Monday a group of 10 or less, use the Salon to play music. This Salon can easily, accommodate at least 120 residents (30 card tables) for play. This is the only available space. This room should be used at a minimum of 3 days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, as these are the busiest days for play and card tables should be set up. On days that the Salon has to be set up for an event, then perhaps the arts and crafts can be used.

3. In desperation, we have tried to set up tables in the, arts and crafts room, kitchen, pool table room and have been told by management, we could not play in these areas. We own the clubhouse, not management, and it is up to the Board to determine the future multiple use of these rooms The signatures are attached on following pages.
