I vote yes for women guru

So the language in this is about permission...and that (male) leaders ultimately still have the power. This whole ideology is couched in misogyny and patriarchy of Kali Yuga. Even the fact that there needs to be this type of petition signifies a deep lacking in ISKCON. So many male-bodied "leaders" have betrayed and abused their followers. How could women do worse...? Let's try not to repeat the same mistakes from the past.

Hare Krishna! PAMHO AGTSP. As Srila Prabhupada said to mother Rukmini, even women should become Gurus. I am inspired by HG Urmila devi's classes and I feel that she is as qualified as some of the exalted Gurus in ISKCON. It is unfortunate that her gender is her only disqualification. Even if people against this argument propose that only few women were Gurus in Vaishnava history, probably 100 Gurus are mentioned in SB and CC. Is every man devotee who is granted sanyaas at that level? I understand there are many other logistics that come up. Even Lord Caitanya had Madhavi devi dasi as a confidential associate, and he had only 3 other male confidential associates!! However, if prediction is that entire world will be Krishna Conscious in this golden age, it is imperative that women be Gurus. Srila Prabhupada gave brahmin initiation to women and he made 5,000+ disciples. Now imagine making entire world Krishna conscious. Making a male sanyasi give initiation and let a women sit there as a prominent Siksha Guru, sounds like a Ritvik initiation. I would be in complete illusion, to think my opinion is better than opposing GBCs. I am sincerely praying that those who have not seen the Western world closely, read this perspective. If women should not be authority, please look closer at many western temples, management fails when men lead. If Manu samhita is correct, then no women should be awarded brahmins. We see Lord Caitanya did not go close to King Prataprudra, however, we have Srila Prabhupada contact PM Indira Gandhi multiple times. United we stand to please Srila Prabhupada. So what to speak of Manu Samhita, Srila Prabhupada did not follow two guidelines laid in Caitanya Caritamrita. Suniti, however, being a woman, and specifically his mother, could not become Dhruva Maharaja’s diksa-guru.” (Bhag. 4.12.32). YES, but in comparison with Narada Muni in Satya Yuga! Which ISKCON male Guru is a Narada muni? And are we in satya yuga? Guys, Sarvopadhi vinirmu

This petition is a no brainer. Of course qualified vaisnavis should be able to give diksa. It would greatly enhance the preaching and attraction of ISCKON.
