This petition is a request to Fairfax County Division of Solid Waste Collection and Recycling from the Nantucket Subdivision to provide vacuum leaf collection service to our regular curbside refuse/recycling service. Vacuum leaf collection would occur three time in the season. There will be a service charge for leaf pick up of 0.015 per $100 of your assessed property value that will be billed as a separate item on the real estate tax bill. Vacuum leaf collection eliminates the need to bag your leaves and provides an environmentally friendly alternative yard waste in landfills. The option to bag your leaves will still be available. As always, using a paper or clear yard bag is recommended to avoid disposal in landfills.
