Video Game Players Petition to Congress
The very first step in this process is to give a name to what we do. There are plenty of other sports, sports being the operative word here, that pay their athletes to compete. That in essence is the whole idea behind “video gamers petition to congress”. Since we play in a virtual world and not the physical world we are virtual athletes and need that distinction, hence “V-Sports”. We would then be “V-Sport” athletes, and the sport would have the “V” in front to give us our own world of competition. “V-Sports” would have all the same entities that other professional sports have such as leagues, divisions, city teams, championship tournaments, world competitions etc. The V-Athletes would be offered the big contracts, have the fame of people like, Tiger, Manning, Jeff, you know who they are because they are competitors and athletes. just because we play with a little controller in our hands, doesn’t mean we don’t have they same skills in our given “V-Sport”. We know the hours it takes, the pain in your fingers and thumbs, the strategy of the game, and in the end our reward is WHAT? The satisfaction of knowing we’re good? How good? Who’s better? I can’t understand why our society still thinks video games are a waste of time! WAKE UP! There are millions of us who want to know the answers to those questions. Until we get the world to see us as “V-Athletes” and our sport as “V-Sports” we will always be wasting our time.
