I have a 20 year old son and had always dreamed of of him graduating from college and becoming a productive member of society, a husband and a father. All those dreams seem hopeless right now. He is caught up in drugs and now an addict who needs help. He needs to get away from this toxic environment where he has a network of friends who abuse drugs. Drug addiction is a disease that must be treated.

I need to get him help now. He needs to be in a substance abuse treatment and then a sober living community for a least a year to ensure he stays clean. To help pay for the expenses, it would be very helpful to use money in my 529 plan without a penalty. If he gets clean, I am hoping he can go back to school but the primary focus now needs to be substance abuse treatment.

I am just one mom but there are thousands of us out there in the same position wanting to get our children help. Drug addiction is an epidemic. We need to do whatever we can to make it easier and more affordable to get the help they need.
