they finally agreed to keep counseling services running year round. i cant believe we actually pulled this off but it feels good to know students wont be left alone during breaks anymore. stay tuned because we are going to make sure they actually follow through on this promise.

Final supporters
We the students, faculty, and alumni of USD demand better from the University that claims to support us. The wellness center is only able to provide therapy counseling and resources when a student is currently enrolled in USD courses or involved in a USD organization. What does this mean? Students are left without resources or support during summer and winter break and when studying abroad. This leaves months unaccounted for. USD claims to be a changemaker campus. Why can't the change start at home? USD needs to provide counseling for their students all 12 months of the year.

it makes no sense to just cut people off when the semester ends. mental health doesnt take a summer break.
ABOUT TIME. USD really needs to step up and actually help us instead of just saying they do. FIX THIS.
ive struggled finding support over the breaks so many times. having access to resources all year is a necessity at this point.
This should be a given, considering we have telehealth options that we are so accustomed during this time in history.
This seems like an appropriate modification for a “Changemaker” campus. I would like to see USD be the change towards protecting the mental health of its students year-round until they graduate.
Wholesome year around counselling should be available to the students.
So important! USD needs to change.
