The irony is that juniors are at the least level of risk. Maybe it's the Masters that should not participate, but certainly the juniors should.

I'm 62 and just got into racing, but I agree that it's totally backward to hold Master's events and skip the Juniors. Give the juniors a chance and skip the Masters.

USA Cycling should prioritize Juniors over Masters. Not only because some Juniors may age out of competition next year, but also, and more importantly, because they are the future of the sport. In business it is widely understood that it's about 5x more expensive to get a new customer than keep an existing one. I'm sure that same logic can be applied to USAC membership.

Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. Cycling in the United States operates on the opposite principle. The old men want to re -live their glory days and get catered to while the future of the sport is treated like they don't matter and don't exist or they get patronized. Oh how cute, junior riders. The juniors get the short end of the stick EVERY TIME. And we keep asking the question "whats wrong with cycling in the United States"? You think juniors and the parents of juniors don't notice they're an AFTER THOUGHT with USAC?

Whether or not these events can be held is an open question. But that the juniors should have a.) a voice in the decision and b.) priority consideration in it, should not be a question.

The Juniors are the future and foundation of any sport and should have an input in the direction the sport takes.

Junior cycling is the foundation for the Elite/Pro & Masters. It is where it all begins.
