USA Cycling just confirmed that they are working with us to include junior athletes in the planning process for our nationals. Seeing our community push back and get a seat at the table reminds me exactly why I started this for my own kids. We finally have a path forward.

Please sign this petition asking USA Cycling to allow the junior cycling community to be part of the discussion and decision on when, where and whether junior national events take place this year, if at all feasible.
As you may be aware, USA Cycling is reviewing the schedule for the various national events. On April 30, it was announced that Elite/Pro and Masters 2020 National Championship events for both road and track are likely to be rescheduled at a postponed date, while Junior events are likely to be cancelled. We certainly understand that changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic are uncontrollable, and that cancellation of events might be unavoidable. However, we urge USA Cycling to consider Junior races equally as important as Elite/Pro and Masters.
We want to work with USA Cycling to be creative in finding opportunities if at all possible to hold events that are important to Junior development in cycling. We would like to have a voice in these decisions, and an opportunity to help find creative solutions to address scheduling, fundraising, and attendance.
USA Cycling – please give Juniors an equal opportunity to compete in 2020 National Championships. We are the future of USA Cycling, and we want to be a part of the conversation.

Seeing one hundred people sign this in such a short time shows me that I am not alone in fighting for these young athletes. Our development matters just as much as the pros. I am gathering these names now to show them that we demand a seat at the table.

Seeing 500 of you rally behind our young riders brings me a lot of hope. My own kid works so hard for these races and I know how much this sport means to all their peers. We are proving that the future of cycling deserves a seat at the table.

My son just turned 18 and has had just about every race canceled. This is is last opportunity to race as a junior and he wants to go pro so it's really important that JR National Championships take place!
Please find a way to give the juniors their championships. As a master's racer who was very involved as a junior, nationsals means way more to a junior than to any master. Not just in terms of a potential career in cycling, but as a formative event that will help positively shape their lives moving forward.
I really want to go to nationals (it would be my first year) and I would be sad if they didn’t happen, but the reasoning for cancellation would be understandable. I just think it’s unfair that the elite/pro and master riders would have their nationals postponed, while ours would be cancelled.
The future of USA Cycling starts with our junior athletes. No matter what discipline these kids race in, their voices should be heard. USA Cycling please include their coaches, parents, or other representatives to be heard regarding ALL Junior National Events.
These juniors have been working hard and some will never get the opportunity to race as a junior after this year. If it’s safe a feasible the we should make it happen. Lexus velodrome is always a place available for just juniors if needed.

There needs to be parity between pro and Junior events, it's not okay for Juniors, the next generation in this sport, to be sidelined. Yes to safety in the pandemic, but no to differentially advantaging one generation over another.
