I wholeheartedly support this petition. Have you tried getting to or from Mesa or even to Basha's during RenFest weekends? The proposed road lies along the bland south side of US60. It will also enable Festival goers to get into and exit the event much more easily, which will dramatically reduce the need and expense of County and State police who currently are needed to manage the traffic flow.
This will be a huge improvement to the quality of life here in Gold Canyon with little disturbance to the environment.
I don't believe this will negatively impact the local businesses since the Festival goers typically go through Gold Canyon and don't stop to shop. If anything, it will free up the Festival weekends for us locals who will be able to get to, say, Basha's much more easily.
And, who knows, with the Sheriff's resources freed up, they'l be able to perform their job to protect us and we'll hopefully see fewer burglaries during the Festival.
This is long overdue and we are now well past the 2008 recession that postponed this project. With more subdivisions being added to Peralta Rd (Peralta Canyon) and also Entrada del Oro, we will need this expansion to avoid even more traffic that is certain to come.

Wonder how the bypass will affect current businesses in town, namely Bashas. If small business sees enough of a drop off will they then close. If Bashas decides it's better off building a spot somewhere off the bypass and closes in Gold Canyon losing our only anchor store would not be good---I don't know the answer here. Only the professionals that study these things will probably know. Love to hear their thoughts

I’m a truck driver living in gold canyon and the slow drivers as well as stop lights takes me a while to get through lights and sometimes I sit through 2 or more sets of lights
