I was on the team back in the day and this news is just awful. Seriously hope they reconsider this decision.
Keep the funding where it belongs. Athletics are a huge part of the college experience and cutting them is a big mistake.
WHAT A JOKE. URI should be investing in these teams not killing them off.
My daughter plays field hockey and it is just a shame they are cutting these programs. We need these sports for the girls.

Not sure if this is still an active petition but I played at URI from 86 to 89 and was heart broken when I heard about the cuts. It would be great to get the Div 1 sport back to URI!!
