URGENT! Stop Choto Landing Development in West Knoxville

I didn't move out to the sticks of West Knoxville, paying a premium for the location, only to have the beauty of the area marred by townhouses and my property value plummet. There are very little sidewalks in this area, no bus routes, no grocery store within several miles. Simply the notion of LIHTC housing in this area is silly. Stop thus development now!

I agree with all the points raised around flooding, the types of homes, and especially the traffic and safety issues the overbuilding has already caused. Knox County recently did a road survey around traffic improvements needed. I suggest reading the feedback regarding Northshore and Choto. In addition, I noticed the recent survey counting cars and would agree it is not representative. It was done before school started and the traffic is 2-3x worse. It should be redone to account for the differences related to school traffic. We live in Jefferson Park and in the mornings and evenings sometimes we sit for over 5 minutes just to turn out of the neighborhood and it’s usually a risky turn due to no middle lane and constant traffic. The overbuilding must stop.

Drainage problems, not properly presented to areas residents, sweetheart deal for Dominion done under the cover of night, increased traffic, increased crime, no public transportation to support the project. I AM AGAINST the section 8 housing project proposed for the Choto area.

The infrastructure in this area does ot support the amount of people already living here. Traffic is backed up every morning leading to schools, schools are overcrowded.

We don't need to pay taxes or have taxes raised to support people who don't contribute. Also the roads and schools are overloaded in this area as it is without section 8 apartments ( affordable housing). We also don't need the crime that comes with section 8 housing

You must stop the Choto Landing development. Northshore Dr. cannot handle any more cars! I currently can't get out of my neighborhood without risking danger in the morning or home in the evening.

I am completely opposed to the proposed development at Choto Landing. This development poses significant threats to our community and the well-being of our families. We are deeply troubled by the gross inappropriateness of this project for our area, stemming from several glaring issues. The most alarming aspect is the way this development was approved without a hint of community input. Knoxville Mayor Glenn Jacobs and Dominion Group have sidestepped the concerns and voices of the very residents they are meant to serve.

This project in no way fits in this area. Traffic alone is already way too much on a narrow road. This development would exacerbate that issue and many more.

Very disappointed to hear about this project and concerned about my kids safety. Why weren’t we told anything about this? I will be at the meeting.
