To the Nepali community in and around Lexington, The recent series of earthquakes in Nepal has crippled much of the country. Our friends and family back home are going through an unimaginably devastating period in our nation's history.Over the last two weeks, every community member has provided support to those affected by the earthquakes in Nepal, whether it be through monetary donations, emotional support or raising awareness about this tragedy here in Lexington. Both FONA and KNS held candlelight vigils which were covered by the local media.However,we believe that we can be more effective in the common cause of helping our motherland if the Nepali community in Lexington came together.This is a call to action to the members as well as the executive committee of KNS and FONA to start a dialogue about how to help Nepal rebuild and recover. We must work collectively since we are all Nepalis first and are driven by the same purpose of helping Nepal. Please sign this petition and spread the word to other members of the Nepali community . We request that the executive committees of KNS and FONA have a joint meeting and have a dialogue on how to work together and with a singular goal during his time of despair,which will be much more effective than working as individual organisations.
