Dear madam Amarah,
Assalamu alaykum
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you, representing the concerns of
approximately 300 Iranian students currently enrolled here in university of Lahore.
In light of the recent escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan, including reports of
missile attacks near Lahore, our families in Iran have grown extremely anxious about our
safety. While we deeply value the education and hospitality provided by the university, the
current geopolitical situation places us in a difficult position as foreign nationals caught in
circumstances beyond our control. The university cannot reasonably be expected to guarantee
our safety amid such unpredictable events, and our families are urging us to return home until
the situation stabilizes.
We wish to express our deepest sympathy and solidarity with Pakistan, our second
home, during these challenging times. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those
affected by the conflict, and we earnestly hope for peace and stability to prevail.
In the interest of both our safety and academic continuity, we humbly request the following:
1. 2. Temporary transition to online classes via Zoom (as was successfully
implemented in the past) to ensure we do not fall behind in our studies.
Permission to return to Iran temporarily until the security situation improves,
without penalty to our academic standing or visas.
We sincerely hope you understand the extraordinary nature of this request, driven solely by
concern for our well-being and the overwhelming distress of our families. We would be
grateful for the opportunity to discuss this matter further or provide any additional details you
may require.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
We trust in the university's commitment to its international students and await your guidance.
Respectfully,
Written on behalf and upon request of Iranian students in UOL
