We are struggling without data, allowance

We didn’t receive data for two month, on top of that we didn’t receive the monthly allowance yet we had to attend classes. Now our modules are suspended because they say we are owing. How are we going to cope and pass with all this stress

Im drowning for real. My life has been difficult since i get no money anymore its hard as an unemployed student I didnt submit my assessment because i didnt have data life is very hard for me without the R330.im struggling to get by

This delay is unacceptable. We demand that NSFAS and UNISA release all pending payments immediately to allow students to continue their education without further disruption.

We are fighting for our rights to education and we are now on debts we really don't know about so we can't stop fighting

It's concerning that us UNISA students funded by NSFAS we're facing issues with our monthly allowances and data provision. According to NSFAS, UNISA students receive a monthly personal care allowance of approximately R317, which is part of the NSFAS funding package. This allowance is meant to cover daily living expenses. Regarding the data issue, it seems UNISA only provides data during examination periods, which can be frustrating for us students studying fully online. Other institutions receive data monthly, so it's understandable that UNISA students feel this policy is unfair. We even suggested of receiving a monthly data, 20GB of data during the day and 10GB at night to showcase that even the data we received was insufficient. The monthly allowance of R317 is indeed insufficient for many students. It's essential for UNISA and NSFAS to review their policies and ensure students receive adequate support. It's crucial for us students to voice our concerns and work with the institution to find solutions. Perhaps a meeting with UNISA and NSFAS officials could help address these issues and find a way forward.
