Petition Statement
We, the undersigned, express our grave concern over the ongoing violence, persecution, and systemic insecurity faced by the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Over recent years, and with increasing frequency, Hindus have been subjected to killings, physical assaults, sexual violence, abductions, destruction of homes and temples, land grabbing, forced displacement, and continuous intimidation. These incidents have created an environment of fear in which many Hindu families are unable to live safely or practice their faith freely.
These acts are not isolated events. They demonstrate a recurring pattern of targeted violence against a religious minority, compounded by inadequate protection, no investigations, and a lack of accountability. Victims and their families frequently report fear of retaliation, lack of trust in law enforcement, and absence of justice.
Bangladesh’s Constitution guarantees equality, secularism, and freedom of religion for all citizens. As a signatory to international human rights treaties, Bangladesh is obligated to protect minorities and uphold fundamental human rights. The continued suffering of Hindus represents a serious failure to meet these constitutional and international commitments by the current government.

Our Demands
We respectfully urge the following actions:
1. Immediate Protection
• Deploy effective security measures in vulnerable areas
• Ensure safety of Hindu communities, temples, and properties
2. Independent and Impartial Investigations
• Investigate all reported incidents of violence against Hindus
• Prosecute perpetrators without political or religious bias
3. Accountability and Justice
• End impunity for crimes against minorities
• Provide legal, medical, and psychological support to victims
4. International Monitoring
• Allow independent observers, including UN mechanisms, to monitor the situation
• Ensure transparency and regular public reporting
5. Long-Term Safeguards
• Strengthen laws protecting minorities
• Ensure equal citizenship, land rights, and freedom of religion, and
- Deploy UN peace force to safeguard Hindus in Bangladesh.
⸻
Our Position
This petition is not directed against any religious group or community. It is a call for justice, human dignity, and the rule of law. Protecting minorities is not a political concession, it is a fundamental responsibility of the state.
History has shown that silence enables violence. Continued inaction risks further loss of life, irreversible displacement, and deepening fear among one of the country’s oldest communities.
⸻
Our Appeal
We call upon the Government of Bangladesh and the international community to act urgently and decisively. Human rights must be upheld without discrimination, delay, or denial.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
