We have been our house 32 years. When it was a two way stop there were so many wrecks. Once there was a wreck and then someone else ran into the wrecked car. i have cars in my yard from the impact. Please do not take away.

This road needs 4 way stops or stop lights. The traffic is too heavy and impatient drivers are a danger to our kids

The stop sign at 56x Central should stay. Without it, crossing Central is unsafe. Many children cross there to access 56xIllinois area and get to/from school. Aside from that specific stopsign, I support keeping all other traffic taming too. Speed humps should be full road width. Central is a lousy road to divert commuter traffic into. Middle of heavily walked/biked neighborhood, and passes at least 5 schools.

While heading east on 56th, it is already dangerous not being able to see if a car heading south on Central is approaching the stop sign. Removing the sign will increase that danger exponentially.

Why not, just leave the stop signs in place.

We have lived on Central for 12 years and since installation of the stop sign at 56th/Central the number of accidents at that intersection have been greatly decreased. We NEED that stop sign to remain. People come up the hill heading south too quickly. Removal will make crossing at 56th (and 58th) very dangerous for walkers.

"Temporarily" removing the 4 way stop at 56th/Central is temporary insanity. We've witnessed countless wrecks and injuries when it was a 2 way stop. The newly installed speed tables were being ignored 10 minutes after they were installed. Poles installed on either side of the speed tables will be crushed the next time the bars let out in Broadripple. This is not a good fix. Please reconsider this ! Children, pedestrians and bicyclists will be at increased risk.

Keep this neighborhood full of children safe.! We pay the taxes for this.

When you come over the hill to meet a speed bump that you didn't know was there, and have to slam on your brakes, as the bumps are so large, this could cause you to be rear ended.

At least 2-3 crashes or near misses/week occurred at 56th and Central until our 4 way stop. This is a school zone! What is it going to take? A school kid injury or fatality?

while I have my doubts about the Red Line or its effectiveness, diverting traffic to a street with 4 schools and making it a road course for speeding vehicles is ridiculous. The "speed bumps" encourage dangerous weaving - I saw one car go to the opposite side of the street to go around since here was a parked car in his direction. There have been no speed traps or police that I have seen - but plenty of 50 mph drivers. This is a danger to our children - and an embarrassment for the city and the Mayor.

Please keep the 4 way stops the way they are. Please. The safety of school children is literally at risk. Don’t be short-sighted. Central Ave is NOT College Ave.

Even with a (4) way stop sign at Central and 56th I’ve seen a t-boned car and other motorists go through the intersection. 56th is a major thoroughfare from college to meridian. Please treat it like 54th st, 49th st and other similar streets. Thank you!

I strongly urge keeping the 4 way stops. I lived beside the 56th & Central corner for many years - before and after the stop signs. The stop signs were a very positive and safe addition to the neighborhood. Taking Stop signs away when drivers and walkers are used to them will only cause extreme hazards to pedestrians.
