URGENT ATTENTION... SAVE A LIFE! KEEP THE STOP SIGNS ON CENTRAL AVE.

Removing these 4 ways stops is a huge mistake. I was in a car accident with my mom at the intersection of 56th and central when I was a child, before it became a 4 way stop. It was put in for good reason and needs to stay. Central Avenue is a quiet residential street and cannot be treated as a replacement for College Ave.

I live a block from the 58/central intersection, which is already dangerous enough with the 4-way stop in place. Can we please stop this insanity? Those making decisions can’t possibily live in our neighborhood.

I would very much worry about the children walking to school. I would not remove 58th or 56th.

PLEASE KEEP THE STOP SIGNS! and wide speed bumps. Kids are going to get killed. Also 58th between Central and Broadway is a huge problem too. Drivers are accelerating like its the green flag at Indy 500 from the minute they turn on 58th from Central and then barely perform rolling stop at Broadway! While I appreciate the monitoring, until you live on a street and see the reckless driving all the time, you don’t understand!

Why would DPW want to reverse a GOOD decision and allow motorist the opportunity to SPEED down a residential street?

Lived in Meridian-Kessler over 50 years. Have ever seen such dangerous choices by a city administration before. Will all of this commuter traffic from the north take the Red Line when it is finished? I don't think so. Central will remain their route downtown. It is therefore MORE important than ever that the 4-way STOP signs remain. Our safety first!

I live on Washington Blvd. and am concerned for the additional very fast drivers that are now on my street because of the speed bumps on Central. I watch three busses load small children every morning on my corner and am concerned about the safety for those families.

Thank you for organizing this petition. It's outrageous for the city to turn Central into a speedway.

We need those 4-way stops maintained on Central Avenue. Additionally, police patrols to reduce speeds in MK. Thank you!

Inept city planning and use of out tax dollars

Another casualty of the Red Line.

The 4 way stops keep the neighborhood safe. There are children that walk home from school on Central. Do you want to be responsible for their injury or God forbid their death. Stop using a bulldozer when a shovel is a better solution.

This has bad written all over it for the families and residents of Meridian Kessler, specifically those on Central, Washington Blvd. and Pennsylvania.

This area is full of walkers, bike-riders and children. Plenty of people already consider 4-way stops to be just a suggestion — please don't make it easier for accidents to happen by removing the 4-way stops!

My son was struck by a vehicle at the 4 way stop at 56th and Illinois while biking to school at CFI 84 a few years ago. I feel strongly that the added traffic on Central and converting the intersections to 2 way stops is very hazardous and could put childrens’ lives at risk as well as increasing automobile accidents.

The speed tables are uncalled for and counterproductive.

To those making the decisions concerning Central Avenue traffic flow while the Red Line is being constructed: Please reconsider taking out the 4 way stops. Take some time to consider how you would feel if it were your children that were walking or riding their bikes to school on Central, or if it was one of your loved ones trying to cross 56th and Central, whether in a car, or walking the dog, jogging, etc. The safety and protection of our children and residents should be the first priority and of the utmost importance.
