Preserve Randall's Island Fields 82-85 for NYC Children

Children in NYC have precious little green space accessible to them. Please preserve their very few outlets from city life. There are many alternative options that allow for better quality of life for the migrants and children alike

We need theses spaces for our children to stay active.

This is an essential space for my child and the whole West Side Soccer league to play. Mayor Adams praises his coach. Let the next geneatio play.

Please do take Randal fields away from our kids. There was a refugee camp set up on the parking lot why it was taken down?

Please keep these fields for our kids, not the illegal immigrants. Stop playing politics. It hearts working families, kids and taxpayers.

Please keep this space for the youth sports that take place on these fields!

Please keep the fields open and find an alternative location for migrant families. We need to find a solution that can satisfy both groups.

I acknowledge immigrants challenges, however Eric Adams has allowed them into New York City KNOWING he doesn’t have the facilities to house them, using them for political gain. It’s despicable, and now it’s impacting the youth very negatively. This is no one’s fault but Adams. Not our fault, not the immigrants faults, Adams fault only.

I am writing to strongly object to the use of Randall’s Island Park’s athletic fields for construction of a HERC facility. I recently learned about the City’s plan to construct a facility on the park’s East River Fields (Fields 82-85). The 1300+ families of Manhattan Soccer Club share this space with many other stakeholders – including public and private schools, after-school and community programs, as well as other athletic organizations. Randall’s Island Park offers invaluable opportunities for social interaction and athletic skill development. Playing with other children in parks and sports fields fosters teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Children learn to negotiate, cooperate, and build friendships, developing essential social skills to serve them well throughout life. What we do and what our children learn is about so much more than just the sport itself. There is no question that New York City is facing a terrible crisis. That said, we strongly encourage City Hall not to compound the problem by creating another that will have profound implications for children and families across the city. With respect to all those incredibly less fortunate, please find a new location that will uplift migrant families without denying parks and athletic fields to our children.

City is tough enough on space for youth sports. Sports are really important to kids, don’t make the current problem even worse.

Please preserve the Randall island filed 82-85 spaces for the youth of NYC. It is not fair to sacrifice one of the few spaces where sports clubs and school sports practice during the week and over the weekends and families gather with their children.

Randall’s Islands should remain for the sole purpose of athletic pursuits- a necessity for all children and adults.

Use the parking lot near Icahn stadium

Do not take away our fields and our children's sports. This is unacceptable. Kids need sports like you all had as kids.
