Preserve Randall's Island Fields 82-85 for NYC Children

This is a park for sports and recreation not to house migrants. If there are no sports in schools and you take away the fields for recreational sports where are our children to go??

Truly empathize with these folks-my grandparents were immigrants-but shame on our government officials and on Mayor Adams for throwing in the towel and not coming together to Find the right solution. Taking away our kids and all New Yorkers precious public space is so very wrong. That’s again shameful as is the scene outside of the Roosevelt hotel and grand central. Sickening. Such a crisis of leadership it’s frightening.

Please keep the fields for their intended purpose and to be used by children who need activity

While I have incredible compassion for the families and kids coming to New York for other countries, I am the soccer coach for more than 90 kids from lower income immigrant communities and we use these fields several times per week, and losing them would be a huge loss to a group that is already marginalized.

As a parent and educator I know how much kids needs these fields!!!!!!

Youths needs their space for activities

NYC has done more than enough for immigrants, we want to keep the fields for our children!

C'mon, support the kids!

I understand the situation of the migrants, and I don’t know how they are feeling, eating, or suffering. However, I do know throwing them on a island, where there’s no access to food, stores, employment opportunities, or more isn’t the best Option. On top of that, fall season is approaching where many kids who are students and active members of the community are losing access to these fields, and memories they would of created. New York City, needs to do better.

Taking away from children is not the r correct thing to do for political matters.

We need these fields!

It is reprehensible to take the few amenities left to NYC residents to favor others that are here illegally. Compassionate or not, sooner or later the needs of local TAXPAYERS need to be accounted for.

There must be better places to house migrants!

My child has played on this field and it should stay as is for future children to play there!!!

Safety is of utmost concern. Regardless of the limited fields outlined, my concern lies around individuals walking around fields where there are children. As a fact there is not much vetted for any prior arrests abroad. This is a federal issues and must be addressed on a federal level not on city level.

Please build on parking lots not kids fields

We need these fields to remain accessible to our children! There already is limited green space in NYC. It is absolutely crazy to take that away from New Yorkers! Find an alternative.
