Urge the Council to reduce the proposed 55% increase to burial costs in Birmingham from April 2019

The rate of increase of the cost of burial is wholly unreasonable. It is many times above the rate of inflation and it will cause great distress and burden on the families of the deceased who at that time are already under a great deal of financial and emotional strain.

Burial is an important practice for many religious institutions and a keen budget decision should be managed carefully to reflect community harmony

The increase is not justifiable and disproportionate.

This is a particularly cruel hike which hits people when they are grieving and vulnerable. How are poorer people able to meet this huge increase? So many people struggling to afford to live. Now it seems they can’t afford to even die and be buried with dignity!

The current price is very difficult on many people in the situation we are as whole country and everyone is complaining financially, so, we urge our city council and local government to stop increasing the burial price. Thanks
