Urge the Council to reduce the proposed 55% increase to burial costs in Birmingham from April 2019

how can anyone justify an increase of 55per cent..this affects the muslim community directly as other communties are able to take other options like cremation..these councillors who rely on our votes decide to hurt the very people who vote them in..where are their voices in our times of need..nowhere

A person who is already grieving for a lost one will have to worry about about funeral costs that they can’t afford. Instead of making it easier they make it 55% more harder.

Increase in cost is not acceptable and council should decrease the councillor's salaries as there was no salaries for councillors few years back.

I sign this petition against increase of burial cost.

I think council should be helping out in reducing the cost of burial rather than increasing it. This is a basic right of any human being and there are vast majority of people who can't afford even the present burial costs, increasing it is just inhumane. I hope Birmingham city council will look at this again with compassion and help ease the suffering of the deceased and their loved ones. Thanks

The price for the burial are too expensive and most of the people here in Birmingham are low income and can not afford to pay more.

There should not be any increase on the price
