Our time has been wasted once again as developers ignore the plans and the City staff and councillors agree with the developers. The City promised us certainty. The only certainty is that the plans and citizens are ignored once again and developers get what they want.

We welcome developers who want to work with the community to build out the vision of the Upper Rideay Community Deisgn Plan. Mid-rise development which includes retail space is used around the world to add density in a sustainable and human way.
We know that this is possible in Ottawa and look forward to working with such developers.

The Community Development Plan should be respected - it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape Rideau Steet East on a human scale. The City and the people should set the agenda, not opportunistic developers.

Respect the CDP process and residents.
Site plan control isn't a valid argument to approve this building.
Stop playing Russian roulette with risk for damage to adjacent properties.

I am not against developing on Rideau St but the buildings should fit in with the neighbourhood. I also don't want to feel like I'm walled in with 18+ story buildings lining Rideau St.
I am also nervous about the damage that could be done to the foundation of my 100 yr old house. When new water mains were installed along Rideau St last year my house shook like there was an earthquake.
