Additional river miles will certainly spread out the concentration of users. Fishermen, rafters, kayakers, and floaters would share more water making it more enjoyable for all.

I have floated this stretch a couple of times and must say it is one of the prettiest and most productive stretches on the Yakima.

Please ask them to also provide the public with a means of safely getting around the Thorpe diversion dam, either by being able to run a portion of it or at least a portage route around it.

As a longtime visitor and angler on the Yakima River I have always felt constrained in the upper river area due to limited shore access. With better access I would be visiting for longer periods of time happily contributing to the local economy. It seems that in the past some wonderful economic opportunities have been missed. Let's all work together to make this happen.

You can still fish it as long as your not above the high water line. With that being said it's incredibly unsafe wading through some of that water because you can't legally walk on the land.

It is unfortunate that the laws put into place in the past did not allow free access to the river for the public. We should take a lesson from Idaho on this.

The entire river belongs to all of us. In order for this to happen, access is imperative. Please provide new access points below the diversion dam.

Outdoor recreation in general, and fishing specifically, provides a huge economic boast to Washington Communities. Kittitas County has the only blue-ribbon trout water in the state. The county should be actively promoting its use while improving access in an environmentally responsible manner.
