Having an improved access system would be a great addition to the regions tourism industry and contribute to the area businesses in particular.

Please provide additional launches and access to the Yakima River upstream from Thorp and between Thorp and the Ellensnurg KOA. There will be added recreational and financial benefit to the county by making these recreational opportunities available.

Fly fishing and recreating on the Yakima River is a big contributor to Kittitas County's economy. Access to the river is critical to maintain and grow the level of dollars generated by fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts. In addition, creating new access will increase annual opportunities to participate in river clean up efforts undertaken each season by guide shops. I would suggest modeling a program after WSDOT's Adopt A Highway Program where select companies donate $$$ to "adopt an access" to the river. Several for profit businesses and non profit organizations statewide come to mind. Let's create a legacy partnership where the resource is the winner. Michael Hamilton

This is a world class river in central WA that needs to be accessed by both anglers and non anglers. This needs to happen!

We definitely need access below the diversion dam to help relieve fishing pressure from KOA to Rosa.

I try to hit the Yakima as many weekends as possible and drive over from Seattle to do so. I don't own a drift boat, so only fish at public access points. To date these efforts have been solely focused around Cle Elum or below Ellensburg due to the lack of access in and around Thorp. More access means more trips and more dollars spent in local communities. I am fully for more access, which in turn, increases stewardship of our natural resources.
