The residents of Discovery Way feel the play equipment is used often and should remain targeted for the younger age group (basically the age group it is currently aimed at) but desperately needs to be updated as it is falling apart and is easy to destroy.

From feedback there are two options we want the North Area Committee Councillors to support/investigate:

• Update the play equipment, level off the “mound”, add a number of trees (would have to be quite large as saplings will be destroyed. Would add privacy)

• Just update the play equipment and add some trees – adds privacy

There is a clear advantage in a choosing a project which already has resident consultation and support.

We therefore ask that City Councillors on the North Area Committee vote to take this project forward and commit to fund it as the 4th play area improvement project from developer contributions.
