UPDATED PETITION ON WELFARE, ACADEMIC STANDARDS, FEEDING & HOSTEL SAFETY CALEB UNIVERSITY
We, the undersigned parents and guardians of students at Caleb University, submit this formal
petition regarding welfare, academic, administrative, feeding, and hostel safety issues that continue
to affect our children.
1. Feeding & Welfare Issues
Students report poor-quality meals, unhygienic conditions, inadequate water quality, and repeated
illness as a result of food consumed on campus. With no access to external food vendors, students
are forced to rely solely on substandard school-controlled options.
2. Hostel & Safety Concerns
Concerns include lack of fridges, no common-room fridges, poor maintenance, broken bunks
(including cases of collapse), and lack of parental access for inspection.
3. Academic & Administrative Challenges
A. Inadequate Lecture Facilities & Personnel
Overcrowded lecture rooms, inconsistent scheduling, and inadequate staffing affect learning
quality.
B. Missing or Unreleased Results
Unresolved missing results cause delays in progression, CGPA issues, and emotional distress.
C. Archaic Registration Procedures
Manual, paper-based processes create delays and confusion. Most modern universities use
efficient online portals.
D. Conflicting Instructions
Lecturers and management frequently issue contradictory information, creating uncertainty for
students.
E. No Functional Communication Forum
Students lack a structured system to report issues, seek clarification, or escalate concerns.
4. Our Requests
- Improved food quality and hygiene
- Approval of external or vetted vendors
- Permission for fridges or installation of common-room fridges
- Proper hostel maintenance and urgent safety inspections
- Recruitment of additional lecturers and improved academic structure
- Resolution of all missing results
- Launch of an online registration/portal system
- Establishment of a unified communication forum
- A meeting between management and parents
5. Notice of Escalation
If issues remain unaddressed, parents reserve the right to escalate through regulatory bodies,
media engagement, or coordinated legal action.
Conclusion
Our children deserve safe accommodation, proper academic structure, healthy food, and clear
communication. We expect timely corrective action.
