The Wifi at Polemanakos dorm has been known to be slow and faltering, making studying and using the internet very difficult for the residents. For example, just last week, a core server malfunctioned, and several residents are now without internet access, severely affecting their ability to have critical access to the network, especially within the constraints of inclement weather conditions. In order for the College to attract and retain students, it is imperative that basic information technology infrastructure within the residence halls be constantly maintained, especially due to the extremely high dependency upon internet access for students to complete their studies. The residents of Polemanakos fully support the administration in its efforts to enhance the residence IT infrastructure, including, but not limited to committing sufficient resources to the IT budget to be able to address this issue and ensure sufficient resource margin to maintain the network, with particular attention to network contingency planning and budgeting.
