It is time for a MAJOR change and COMPLETE overhaul with the procedures, staff and outdated "assessments" that take place at FCDS. Because of all of these flaws in the system, the animals pay the ultimate consequence with their lives! Enough is enough!

Innocent adoptable dogs are being killed daily! It's time for FCDS to be a safe shelter for these dogs. Adopters should be screened, adsessments should be used for correct placement for dogs and ontervention, if needed. Assessments should not be used as an excuse to euthanize. The shelter should never kill for space! Redemption fees need to disappear and counseling and assistance needs to be availble to help people leep their dogs!

This is really just common sense! Time to end the archaic and outdated "tests" to evaluate these dogs and to practice better judgement! These are living beings and we are the only ones that can help them! The dogs at FCDS deserve better! Now is the time!

Animal cruelty has got to stop! Killing these poor defenseless, speechless, living beings is just inhumane.

Franklin County animal shelter needs to be more of a safe haven for these animals. Using that stupid hand stick while a dog is eating is totally insane. It is barbaric. If someone shoved a hand stick into my dog's face she would try to bite it also and she is a total sweetheart.

First: It would behoove the powers that be at the FCDS&AC to look up the definition of "shelter" in Webster's Dictionary. It is past time for FCDS&AC to refine their adoption policy to take the time to screen potential adopters so that innocent animals go into safe and caring homes. PLEASE let's protect those who have no voice but ours!!!

There is never a valid reason to kill adoptable dogs! FCDS has the means to screen adopters, hire trainers for dogs at risk, provide medical care for dogs in need, Have a foster program, actually train employees how to work with dogs, and they should appreciate and encourage more volunteer involvement. All dogs should be getting exercise and enrichment every day----especially the dogs in the back wards! Assessments should be revised and these results should be used to help with adoption placement and intervention, NOT used as an excuse to euthanize or make "rescue only!"
