As per the upcoming guidelines, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology implements a mandatory re-certification of the CPR-C (or CPR-HCP) course for the second year BScN program. The CPR course qualification is valid for a two year span. The practicum office (effective immediately) expedites the time frame, for which a CPR examiners deems a student knowledgeable enough to practice, to a single year. Doing so raises the question of student competency at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. The university needs to entrust scholars to determine their degree of knowledge. Signing this pledge indicates a desire to overturn the practicum office's decision for single year validity of CPR-C (or CPR-HCP). Each signatory is solely responsible for any and all opinions they express.
