Unmask the Children!

On July 23, 2021, just one day after the John Galvan’s letter to parents, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals held that the state cannot order private schools closed. They found that, “California’s forced closure of their private schools implicated a right that has long been considered fundamental under applicable case law - the right of parents to control their children’s education and to choose their children’s educational format.” This has been interpreted by many schools, San Diego Christian Unified among one of the largest, to mean that the state cannot in constitutionally mandate how they operate. Anyone of the following three reasons should be enough for make the Bishop reverse course. 1. Toxic levels of CO2 the kids are exposed to. 2. The myriad studies and reports showing the extreme anxiety and stress this places on kids. 3. The fact that all levels of government have shown that without existing comorbidities, children remain at exceptionally low risk from COVID-19. I also find it odd that my daughter can walk into the parish for mass with us without a mask but when she goes 20 yards away into her classroom she needs a mask. Drop this mandate now!
