We, the parents and taxpayers of Riverdale schools DEMAND:

-A SUPPORTIVE educational COMMUNITY based on up to date/current/evidence u Education, not fear based. Teach the kids coping mechanisms, including with social and emotional essentials, to assist in dealing with this pandemic and give them the mental tools necessary to see light and hope at this time. Navigate away from acting as if the children’s actions are causing or controlling this virus.

-A COMMUNITY- based education, not an isolated one. A. We have chosen to raise our children, with all different backgrounds to love and accept each other no matter what our different beliefs or faiths are, in which all members are part of one community. We need to come together as one community, to show unity and acceptance for the kids to grasp and accept this concept.

-Parental Choice; We support parental choice for Covid-19 vaccines for children in School District 100. Parents are in charge of medical decisions. The school guides education and after school activities only.

-Unvaccinated children and vaccinated children should be treated the same. No segregation among children based on vaccine status AT ANY TIME.

-No further quarantining of healthy children based on vaccine status or proximity to other students.

-We support parental choice for masks in school and school related activities. We want parents to choose whether their children need, or want, to wear a mask.

-After nearly two years, it is time to Establish a “Parental Covid Advisory Board” for open dialogue between the parents of the children affected by the rules imposed and the Covid Task force currently determining protocols for the state of Illinois.

-We feel we have extended grace and understanding on the pandemic guidelines for 22 months now. It is time for District 100 to navigate away from these failing protocols regarding health, and focus entirely on the academic, social, and emotional development of the students. We have waited long enough, and we are no longer willing to accept the constant and continuous focus on the virus. We want to move forward. We want happy children, and we want our kids to live joyfully and fearlessly.
