It is so absurd the way schools and governments are obsessed with monitoring the way kids use the bathroom. Ignoring the obvious safety concerns associated with the locked doors, this “solution” will do nothing to solve the problem of students skipping class or vaping in school. This problem is a result of a education system that does not work for everybody, and allows kids to progress through school without learning anything. Instead focus on mental health resources so they don’t feel the need to resort to substances to feel even slightly better and look into the most common stressors and find real ways to remedy them. Look over the roster of teachers and listen to students when they say how cruel/mean/derogatory/not capable to teach someone is, because they are experiencing it first hand. If I had a mean, bigoted teacher, I would be skipping their class all the time. Locking the bathrooms and putting all these obstacles in place to use them creates and deeper divide between school administration and the student body. There are much bigger issues and nothing is being done about them. Focus more on the rampant racism, homophobia, and just plain bullying across all schools (specifically Boca High) and less on policing our bathroom usage.

Makes lines extremely long which leads to us missing more class time.

It does come to be a bit stressful, as it takes much more time going to other bathrooms. And this especially does not stop with people smoking and such.

This rule is so dumb I need to go to the bathroom in my own hallway in between and in classes
