On 27th July 2014, Margaret Wood passed away at her home in Manor Gardens. She died unexpectedly but due to natural causes. Her family were told by Devon and Cornwall Housing that they were to remove all of Margaret's belongings and vacate the property within three days of her death, in which they did, all be it with a huge struggle. Now, Devon And Cornwall Housing are demanding Margaret's daughter, Beryl pays four weeks rent that they believe is owed. The reason they are demanding this is because " They didn't receive four weeks notice"... How were her family supposed to know she was going to pass away? How were they able to give them four weeks notice?

Aswell as the massive pain that is already still extremely rife within the family at the loss of such a massive part of their lives, this is a huge blow to the family who are still struggling to cope with the death.

With enough support and enough signatures, we are hoping Devon And Cornwall Housing will take notice and realise that what they are doing is wrong and completely insensitive and immoral.

The momentum is incredible. This shows that people recognize how wrong this situation is.

DCH claim to care about communities and residents, sadly they only care about money.

They just want the money no matter what the cost to people. Shame on DCH for this.

Absolute disgrace. How can they be so heartless when a family is trying to bury their mother

well done to bring to local tv level showing housing associations lack of compassion to a grieving family .
